Getting started
Who is Mamba Volleyball Academy built for?
Mamba’s club teams serve boys in the 12U–18U divisions who want to improve, compete, and grow as teammates. Youth Academy and group or private lessons offer additional ways to get involved.
Where does Mamba practice?
Mamba practices at Center Court Sports Complex, 815 Northview Rd, Waukesha, WI 53188. The facility has eight courts under one roof.
How do I know my athlete’s age division?
Use the current Badger Region or USA Volleyball age-definition guidance before registering. If you are unsure, send Mamba a message through the contact form before completing registration.

Tryouts
When are 12U–14U tryouts?
Tryouts are October 3–4 at Center Court Sports Complex in Waukesha. The 14U session is 1:00–2:30 PM, and the 12U–13U session is 2:45–4:00 PM on both days.

High-school tryouts are November 7–8. Final location, session times, fees, and arrival instructions are provided through the registration page as they are confirmed.

Yes. A Badger Region membership is required for tryouts, and athletes should bring proof of membership.

Coaches evaluate volleyball skill, movement, effort, communication, competitiveness, response to feedback, and how each athlete contributes to the group.
What happens after tryouts?
Families receive an offer or follow-up communication by email. Instructions for securing an offered roster position are included in that communication.
Are tryout registration fees refundable?
No. Tryout registration fees are non-refundable.
Where do I register?
Choose the registration card for your athlete’s age division in the Tryouts section. Separate registration links are provided for 12U–14U and 15U–18U.

Teams and seasons
What team levels does Mamba offer?
Mamba offers Regional and National/Travel pathways. Regional options include 12U–13U development teams, 14U with a Nationals extension when offered, and 15U–18U Gold teams with season lengths that vary by age. Placement depends on age, team fit, roster availability, and the competition structure for that season.

15 Gold, 16 Gold, 17 Gold, and 18 Gold are Regional teams. The 15–17 Gold teams finish the first weekend in June, while 18 Gold finishes in March.
What is the season commitment for 15–17 Gold?
15 Gold, 16 Gold, and 17 Gold are Regional teams built around advanced training and high-level competition. Tournament travel is generally within three hours of Waukesha, and the season concludes with the Mamba Nationals Warm Up during the first weekend in June.
Which teams are National/Travel teams?
The 15U–18U Black and Purple teams are National/Travel teams built for high-level regional and national competition.
How long is the club season?
12U–14U Regional teams and 18 Gold play from November through March. The 15 Gold, 16 Gold, and 17 Gold Regional teams finish at the Mamba Nationals Warm Up during the first weekend in June. National/Travel teams finish at JVA Nationals in St. Louis. The 14U Nationals extension is available when offered.
How often do teams practice?
Mamba teams typically practice twice each week for two hours per practice during the club season.

Travel, costs and fundraising
How much travel should families expect?
Travel varies by team level and schedule. Regional teams compete primarily within the regional structure. Tournament travel for 15 Gold, 16 Gold, and 17 Gold is generally within three hours of Waukesha. Black and Purple National/Travel teams follow an expanded national competition schedule. Final schedules and travel expectations are shared with families by team.
Do Mamba teams attend a national championship?
Designated National/Travel teams attend JVA Nationals in St. Louis. The 15 Gold, 16 Gold, and 17 Gold Regional teams conclude their season at the Mamba Nationals Warm Up during the first weekend in June.
Are travel and lodging included in club tuition?
No. Tournament-related travel, lodging, meals, parking, and transportation are the financial responsibility of each family and are not included in club tuition. Specific travel requirements vary by team and tournament schedule.

What makes Mamba’s development approach different?
Mamba develops the player and the person. Volleyball training is paired with expectations around mindset, accountability, mastery, team bond, attitude, and adaptability.

Yes. Leadership and personal development are part of the Mamba experience, with an emphasis on confidence, communication, accountability, values, and responding well under pressure.
Does Mamba help athletes with college recruiting?
Mamba provides recruiting support, competitive film, and honest guidance to help athletes understand the next level. Recruiting questions can be sent to recruiting@mambavolleyball.org.
How many Mamba athletes have gone on to college volleyball?
Mamba currently recognizes 30 athletes who have continued into college volleyball programs.
